Wes Voorheis has been the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of VWK Capital Management since its inception. Wes is also a partner of Voorheis & Co. LLP and an officer of VC & Co. Incorporated.

Over his career, Wes has been at the forefront of numerous high-profile shareholder disputes, proxy contests, independent corporate investigations, complex restructurings and other special situations involving Canadian companies. Wes previously acted as Chairman of the Board of Granite Real Estate Investment Trust, HudBay Minerals Inc. and YBM Magnex International, Inc. and as Chairman of a number of special board committees and as a director of various Canadian publicly-traded companies. Prior to the establishment of Voorheis & Co., Wes was a senior corporate partner with Davies, Ward & Beck (now Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP), a Toronto-based law firm, with a primary emphasis on mergers and acquisitions and securities law matters. Wes holds an LLB from the University of Western Ontario.

Alastair Scott has been with VWK Capital Management since its inception. Alastair is deeply involved in all aspects of investment analysis and portfolio strategy at VWK. Alastair joined VC & Co. Incorporated as an investment analyst in 2010, became a Portfolio Manager of VWK Capital Management in 2015 and was named Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer in 2016. Alastair holds a Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University. Alastair is a CFA Charterholder and is a member of the Toronto CFA Society.

Rangana Karunanayake joined VWK Capital Management in 2023 as Vice-President, Operations. Prior to joining VWK, Rangana was in operational roles at RP Investment Advisors and Sprott Asset Management. Rangana holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics & Statistics from University of Toronto and has completed Level 1 of the CFA Program.

Decker Rudka returned to VWK Capital Management as a full-time analyst in 2023 after previously completing a summer internship at the firm. Prior to joining VWK Capital Management, Decker completed an internship in the mergers and acquisitions group at Lynx Equity Limited, a mid-market private equity firm. Decker is directly involved in the investment analysis and portfolio strategy conducted at VWK Capital Management. Decker holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the Smith School of Business at Queen’s University.

Steve Cole acts as a special advisor to VWK Capital Management with respect to its investment activities. In that capacity, Steve provides valuation and other investment advice and assistance to VWK’s team on a regular basis.

Steve was most recently a Senior Advisor to Duff & Phelps with more than 35 years of experience in business valuation and a broad range of industry sectors. Steve was the founder of Cole & Partners, one of Canada’s leading independent financial advisory firms, where he was involved in a wide range of mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and valuation assignments involving both publicly held and private businesses. He has been a director or advisory committee member of numerous private and public companies, charitable and professional organizations as well as an investment committee member and active advisor to numerous, significant, public and private funds and pools of capital containing public and private company investments. Steve is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario and the Canadian Chartered Institute of Business Valuators.
